Visualization, in computer graphics, treats data as pictures rather than as geometry. It involves viewing and manipulating the image data. The type of the data comes from sources like CT scanners, seismic measurements, landsat images or MR scanners.
LAVA can be used in undersatnding complex data sets. To do this requires a diverse set of visual display technologies, including image processing, volume rendering, interactive graphics, video and image texture mapping, and high-quality rendering.
